London is almost unrecognisable in Daniel Kaluuya's new movie The Kitchen, which is now streaming on Netflix. However, some may have spotted one of London's most familiar brutalist architectural treasures, the Barbican.
Set in the capital, The Kitchen pictures what the city could look like 20 years into the future. In particular, the trailer shows London to be a concrete city, with nature seen to become one with the built-up capital.

Yes. The Barbican's nature-filled conservatory is one of the filming locations featured across the new dystopian flick.
Netflix audiences may have recognised the spot in some of the scenes of the ecological funeral home called Life After Life, in which Izi works.

Hide AdThe London spot confirmed it was the setting for filming in its 2022/23 annual report, which reflected on the happenings that had taken over the Barbican that year.
While the movie is set in London, filming for the project also took over another familiar capital city.
As explained by The Kitchen producer Daniel Emmerson in Deadline, the Damiers complex in Paris' financial district was used for exterior shots throughout the project.
