I was transported from central London to the Scottish Highlands in Lush’s latest themed massage.

The vast mountainous landscapes of Scotland’s northwest are the inspiration behind Lush’s latest massage.

The Highlands is a 60 minute full-body hot stone massage that will be launching across Lush’s spas nationwide later this month (September 27) including the brand’s two London spots in Oxford Street and Covent Garden.

Ahead of the massage joining Lush spa’s growing catalogue of spa treatments which also includes the fan fave Synthesia, I was one of the first to experience Highlands in the basement of their flagship store on London’s iconic Oxford Street

As part of the experience Lush really does bring the Highlands to you. Before heading into the treatment space you get to sip on fresh spring water and even get a reading of sorts through stones sourced from the Scottish region which have been carved with Gaelic symbols.

After picking three that resonate with you the most, you’ll then be told the meaning behind each.

The three I chose were the eye, the rainbow and one for simplicity. The eye symbolised clarity and having confidence with your own path, the rainbow represented hope and optimism while the third highlighted the importance of the little things.

At the end of the reading you pick out one stone which you are drawn to the most which then acts as something to focus on during the treatment. For me that was the eye stone.

Entering the treatment room I soon forgot the hustle and bustle of capital life upstairs as it felt like I was in a cosy cabin nestled in the highlands.

The soundtrack which features Gaelic historical folk songs also helps you stay in a highland state of mind as you feel connected to the landscape despite being far away from it.
