London’s iconic live music venue the Jazz Cafe has announced a swathe of new shows across their autumn, winter and spring season.

The programme features some of the finest “innovators, instigators and influencers from contemporary music culture”.

The Alchemist

October 15

Enjoy an evening of hip-hop sounds from the 90’s, 2000s and beyond from iconic US hip-hop producer The Alchemist.

Alchemist rose to prominence in the 90s, thanks to producing timeless records for Cypress Hill and Mobb Deep.

He produced for many more of hip hop’s leading artists in the 2000s, including Snoop Dogg, Nas, and recently Earl Sweatshirt, Jay Electronica and Freddie Gibbs

Judi Jackson

Rogue Symphony Present La La Land: The Soundtrack

With the help of renowned 16-piece orchestra Rogue Symphony, experience a live performance of the full soundtrack to 2016’s blockbuster musical La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

The soundtrack has been lauded as being a classic of the genre in its own right thanks to iconic songs like Another Day Of Sun and City Of Stars.

The orchestra will also perform a host of other classic show tunes from the golden age of the great American songbook by the likes of George Gershwin and Cole Porter.

Luciano has reigned as the king of “conscious” reggae music for over two decades.

Landing on the scene in 1993, his collaboration with reggae ambassador Freddie McGregor on his Big Ship Music label resulted in a UK chart topping cover of Cheryl Lynn’s R & B hit Shake it Up Tonight.

Versatile in many ways, Luciano’s singing talents are able to crossover from dancehall to roots and culture, to R&B and disco, to blues and even country and western.

With a career spanning six decades, he has amassed a diverse and hugely influential collection of timeless hits, including Everybody Loves the Sunshine, Searchin and Runnin Away.

One of the founding fathers of the jazz-funk sound, his music influenced the emergence of the acid jazz scene as well as the world of hip hop, where you’ll find his music has been sampled more than most other artists.

Agnes Nunes

Agnes Nunes emerged in 2019 as one of the biggest musical revelations of the year.

After a long wait she plays her first ever UK show in Camden.

As a teenager she began posting homemade videos with voice and keyboard and soon caught the attention of some of Brazil’s biggest musicians.

Collaborations soon followed with Dj Alok and Sango, as well as Xamã, with whom she launched her first successful project Elas por Elas.

Growing up around the countryside in Brazil, her charming voice and irresistible accent are a mix of the places she has lived in and one of the key-elements in her live shows.
