Runners up and down the country are getting ready for the running event of the year; the TCS London Marathon.

Hide AdA record number of 50,000 people are set to take part in the 26.2 mile challenge at the end of April.
This year notable participants include former British-Iranian hostage Anoosheh Ashoori who will be running his third London marathon and a team of Ukrainian marines.

The London Marathon will be held on Sunday April 21.
The annual event returned to its spring slot last year after being held in autumn during the pandemic years.
What is the route?
The 26.2 mile route has remained the same since the inaugural event in 1981.

Hide AdThe course starts in Greenwich and ends at the Mall, taking in landmarks such as Tower Bridge and the Cutty Sark.

All ballot entries received their results last July and charity places have now closed.
The results of the 2025 TCS London Marathon Ballot will be emailed to all entrants in July.
