Freddie Mercury Sotheby’s auction 2023 live stream: How Queen fans can watch sales online

The Sotheby’s Freddie Mercury: A World of His Own auction series is under way, with the first sale having raised a whopping £12.2million. There will be a total of six auctions, which will be live streamed for fans.

The first auction of some of Mercury’s beloved treasures started on Wednesday (September 6). Four more sales are set to take place over the next week before the final on Wednesday (September 13).

Londoners were able to see the full Mercury collection up close at Sotheby’s New Bond Street before the items went up for auction in an exhibition which opened in early August. The Freddie Mercury: A World of His Own exhibition was open for a month before it closed on September 5, which would have marked his 77th birthday.

While the exhibition has now ended, fans will still be able to see some of Mercury’s items as they go on sale. The Freddie Mercury: A World of His Own auctions will be live streamed online.

Queen fans will be able to watch the auction live on the Sotheby’s website. After clicking on the specific auction you want to watch, there will be the option to join the auction. This will then take you to the online auction room, where you will be able to watch the live stream of the auction at Sotheby’s.
