Barbie movie: London cinema offering freebies to anyone called Ken

Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ will both be released on Friday July 21.

In less than two weeks two of the biggest films of the year are set to be released with many movie fans calling the double bill ‘Barbenheimer’.

Greta Gerwig’s much-anticipated fantasy-comedy ‘Barbie’ and Christopher Nolan’s historical thriller ‘Oppenheimer’ land are both landing on Friday July 21.

If your name is Ken, we recommend seeing Barbie first as a cinema company in London is putting on a special treat for those who share the name with Barbie’s boyfriend.

Vue cinemas in London are offering free popcorn or a limited-edition Barbie Tango Ice Blast to anyone named Ken.

This deal only applies on opening weekend – July 21 to 23 – and you’ll need an ID proving that your name begins with ‘Ken’, including but not limited to Kenneth, Kendrick, Kendall and Kenji.

For those of you wanting to go all out Picturehouse cinemas is hosting special dress up screening events at their cinemas so come in your finest, pinkest outfits, whether you’re a Barbie or a Ken.

A special Barbie-themed pop up shop is also coming Shoreditch from July 20 to 23 to celebrate the film’s release.
