David Moyes will be hoping to celebrate turning 60 years old in true style with a statement West Ham United victory over Liverpool on Wednesday night.

The Irons are unbeaten in five matches and have banked some huge results in their latest run, including a 4-0 win over Bournemouth and a 2-2 draw against Arsenal. They also punched their ticket into the Europa Conference League semi-finals, after beating Gent with an impressive 5-2 aggregate scoreline.

Back in the Premier League though, safety is still not yet completely secured for Moyes and his men. They are currently six points above the drop zone and will need to use their momentum to bank some all-important points.

Liverpool have also hit a run of good form and are fighting to secure European football next season. They will travel to the London Stadium off the back of a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, following their 6-1 demolition of Leeds last week.

Ahead of the clash, we’ve taken a look at the latest fitness updates coming from both West Ham and Liverpool camps.

Latest West Ham injury news

West Ham have no new injuries to report but remain without 2022 summer signing Gianluca Scamacca. The midfielder picked up a knee injury while on international duty with Italy, and has not featured for the Irons since.

Scamacca has now missed 12 Premier League matches and Moyes recently confirmed the striker had undergone surgery, despite hoping he would be able to avoid it.

Latest Liverpool injury news

Liverpool have a fresh injury concern regarding Ibrahima Konate ahead of their meeting with the Hammers on Wednesday. Klopp admitted during his pre-match press conference that he is hopeful the defender will be match fit, but is aware that his initial thought ‘doesn’t mean a lot’.

Roberto Firmino is currently out with a muscle injury, which saw him miss the clash against Nottingham Forest. Klopp has confirmed the Brazilian will also be absent for the West Ham match.

As well as Firmino, Naby Keïta is sidelined due to injury but will be returning to ‘partial training’. However, he is not yet back with the team.

Alongside those mentioned by Klopp in his latest presser, right-back Calvin Ramsay is also out injured with a knee problem, and Stefan Bajčetić is not expected to return before the end of the season due to a groin injury. However, the manager is looking forward to welcoming the 18-year-old back for 2023/24 pre-season training.
