West Ham have reportedly made a bid for FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi. The 23-year-old has been attracting interest from the Premier League this winter.

According to Sky Sports (live transfer blog, 15.01.23) the Hammers have now made their move. David Moyes’ side have apparently lodged an initial offer of £20million with £5million in add-ons.

Moffi, 23, has been linked with a few English clubs in this transfer window. The Daily Mail claim Southampton have already had an approach rebuffed for the forward, whilst Football Insider have said scouts from Newcastle United, Leicester City, Everton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth have been watching him in action over recent times.

He has been in fine form so far this season and has fired 10 goals in 14 games in all competitions. West Ham have slipped into the relegation zone and could see him as someone to come in and fire the goals to help them climb up the league table during the second-half of the campaign.

Moffi signed for Lorient back in 2020 having previously played in Belgium for the likes of K.V. Kortrijk and he has been a proven goal scorer in Ligue 1. In 86 matches for his current club to date, he has found the net 33 times.

They will face a battle to keep hold of him over the next couple of weeks. Despite it being said that West Ham don’t have too much money to spend this month, they have now apparently swooped for a potential new attacker after losing to Wolves this weekend.
