West Ham have reportedly joined the race to sign Dundee United winger Rory MacLeod. The 16-year-old is attracting plenty of attention in this January transfer window.

According to The Sun, the Hammers are ‘interested’ in luring him down to London and have been scouting him up in Scotland recently. In addition, the report adds his current club would be willing to sell him for around £4million.

However, David Moyes’ side aren’t the only club in the frame for his signature this winter. The Sun also reported earlier this month that fellow Premier League sides Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion are also keen on snapping him up, whilst Football Scotland claim Southampton are also admirers.

MacLeod penned his first professional deal back in 2021 when he was just 15 and made his debut in February last year in a Scottish Premiership clash against Motherwell. He became Dundee United’s youngest ever player in the process.

He has since made six senior appearances for the Terrors in all competitions and is being tipped for a bright future in the game. The Scotland youth international remains under contract until 2024 but his club will face a battle to keep him, with West Ham become the latest team to be linked.
