West Ham revamped £176m valued starting XI should January transfer rumours prove true
West Ham have been linked with a move for a new striker come the January transfer window.
It's now just a matter of days before the January transfer window swings open and gives West Ham and Julen Lopetegui the chance to bring in new recruits.
The Hammers did back their new manager with £132 million of spending in the summer but it's been a hit-and-miss start to life at the London Stadium for the Spaniard. There have been key injuries to first team stars with some new faces underperforming so far this term, which could highlight the need for further investment this winter.
The Premier League transfer window opens on Wednesday, January 1 and LondonWorld looks at what the West Ham starting XI could be at the end of the month should current transfer rumours come true, with market values as per Transfermarkt.
West Ham starting XI if January transfer rumours come true
GK - Lukasz Fabianski, £580,000
Ousted Alphonse Areola from the starting role under Julen Lopetegui before sustaining a nasty blow in the meeting with Southampton on Boxing Day. Seems likely that he will regain the first choice spot on his return to fitness.
LB - Emerson, £10m
A key figure in the Lopetegui system, the Brazilian has missed just one Premier League match this season. That came against AFC Bournemouth earlier this month having picked up five yellow cards.
CB - Max Kilman, £29m

Brought to West Ham to work under his former Wolves manager this summer for £40 million. Has looked a little shaky at times but slowly becoming the main man in the Hammers' back line.
CB - Fikayo Tomori, £18m
Lopeteugi has Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo at his disposal but the centre-back pairings have not looked the most convincing this term. CaughtOffside claim that West Ham are challenging Newcastle United and Aston Villa to sign the AC Milan defender come January.
RB - Aaron Wan-Bissaka, £18m
Arrived at West Ham from Manchester United for £15 million this summer. Getting better and better at the London Stadium and enjoying freedom to roam the flank and cut inside, causing problems in attacking move as well as doing his defensive work.
CM - Tomas Soucek, £20m
The experienced Czech international remains the physical heartbeat of the West Ham midfield. Soucek has racked up over 225 appearances for the club since arriving from Slavia Prague in 2020.
CM - Carlos Soler, £17m
The PSG loanee has taken his time to adjust to the Premier League but has turned in a few impressive performances of late. It remains to be seen whether the club looks to make that deal permanent next summer.
CM - Jobe Bellingham, £10m
One of the Championship's most exciting prospects, the Sunderland man is making a name for himself away from his brother's Real Madrid success. TBR Football reported in November that West Ham have joined Crystal Palace, Marseille and RB Leipzig in monitoring the 19-year-old, who is hotly tipped to make a move to the Premier League.
LW - James McAtee, £12m

The former Sheffield United loanee is struggling for game time at Manchester City, despite Pep Guardiola fighting to keep him this summer. Talk of a January departure for the versatile attacking midfielder continues to grow with West Ham and Crystal Palace leading that race according to The Telegraph.
ST -Emmanuel Latte Lath, £5m
It's not worked out for Niclas Fullkrug since his £27 million move from Borussia Dortmund and, with Michail Antonio sidelined long term, a striking addition appears to be a priority for the Hammers. The Sunday Mirror have named in-form Middlesbrough talisman Emmanuel Latte Lath as a potential target with talks already underway.
RW - Jarrod Bowen, £37m
Continues to impress even when West Ham struggle for form. The danger man wherever he plays in the side for the club, he remains at his most natural when on the flank with his ability to cut inside and make the goalkeeper work.
