Wolves at risk of losing star man for Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal clashes
Wolves are sweating on the availability of one of their most important players ahead of clashes with Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal. The West Midlands side are looking to pull away from the bottom three under new boss Vitor Pereira, and they have now won back-to-back games.
Pereira’s men defeated Leicester City and followed that up with an impressive win over Manchester United. Those wins have taken them up to 17th place and outside the bottom three.

Hide AdStar man Matheus Cunha has scored in both, netting 10 goals in 18 games so far this season, leading to plenty of transfer links ahead of January and the summer. Wolves are now preparing for a tricky run of fixtures that includes games against Spurs, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City (FA Cup, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Concerningly for the Midlands side, though, star man Cunha is still facing a ban after being charged with misconduct by the FA in relation to his actions on December 14, when he shoved a member of the Ipswich Town backroom staff in the face following a 2-1 defeat, knocking the man’s glasses off his face.
There is talk Cunha could miss five games should he be banned, and if that ban was to come into force before the Tottenham, clash, he would miss games against Spurs and Chelsea. Meanwhile, if it was to come into force after the Spurs game, he could miss games against Chelsea and Arsenal.
At this point, the incident is still under investigation, and no suspension has been dished out by the FA despite false images doing the rounds on social media. It seems unlikely the Brazilian will be suspended before Sunday, when Wolves take on Tottenham, which could be good news for Arsenal, given it increases the likelihood Wolves will be without arguably their best player come January 25.
