Following the huge sale of Declan Rice, West Ham have wasted no time in spending the cash. After a quiet start to their summer transfer window, the Irons have brought in Edson Álvarez and James Ward-Prowse for a combined fee in the region of £65 million.

There are still deals to made as well, with a couple of weeks remaining before the window closes, and we’ve taken a look at some of the latest transfer updates for David Moyes and his side.

Irons monitoring 28-goal striker

After the sale of Gianluca Scamacca, West Ham are looking pretty thin up front and matters could get worse if Michail Antonio’s exit links materialise. The 33-year-old is one of the latest targets of Saudi Arabia and if he makes the move this summer, Moyes will be left with just Danny Ings as his only senior centre-forward.

So of course, West Ham are looking to bring in new options up front and according to 1908.nl, they are interested in Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez. An offer is yet to be tabled for the 22-year-old — who scored a hefty 28 goals across all competitions last season — but the club have reportedly made ‘preparations to become serious’ in their pursuit.

Gimenez is under contract with Feyenoord until 2027 and while a potential transfer fee hasn’t been discussed, Transfermarkt have valued him at €25 million (£21.6m).

Key Forest star on the radar

Speaking of bolstering their attack, West Ham have also emerged as the latest runners in the race for Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson. Despite being an attacking midfielder by trade, the versatile 22-year-old barely played in his natural position last season, instead slotting in at right-wing or centre-forward most of the time.

After returning eight Premier League goals — nearly all of them crucial to Forest’s survival — Johnson has attracted a lot of attention this summer and according to The Telegraph, West Ham have made him a player of interest as they look to add more creative flair to their ranks this season.
