West Ham are reportedly interested in Yassine Bounou but will have to face competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United for his signature. The goalkeeper caught the eye playing at the World Cup earlier this winter with Morocco and helped his country reach the semi-finals against the odds in Qatar.

According to AS (via Sport Witness), the Hammers have identified him as a potential target for the summer. The 31-year-old is under contract 2025 so would require a transfer fee.

West Ham could see him as a possible replacement for 37-year-old Łukasz Fabiański. However, TEAMtalk claim Spurs and Manchester United are also keen to lure him over to England.

Bounou, also known as Bono, was born in Canada but moved to Morocco when he was a child. He rose up through the youth ranks at Wydad AC before he was snapped up by Atletico Madrid as a youngster.

The stopper never made a senior appearance for the La Liga giants and subsequently went on to have spells at Real Zaragoza and Girona before Sevilla signed him in 2019. He was initially brought in on loan before they made his deal permanent.

West Ham-linked Bounou has since made 128 appearances and even scored during the 2020/21 campaign. He has also won the Europa League during his time at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
