West Ham reportedly agreed a deal to sign striker Terem Moffi from FC Lorient in the January transfer window. However, the Hammers weren’t able to get the move over the line and he ended up joining OGC Nice on loan with an option to buy.

As per L’Equipe (via Get French Football News), David Moyes’ side matched his valuation this winter. However, it appears he wasn’t keen on the switch to England at this stage.

West Ham ended up bolstering their attacking options by snapping up Danny Ings from Aston Villa. Michael Antonio was linked with a departure but ended up staying put as another forward arrival didn’t materialise in the end.

Moffi, 23, has scored 12 goals in 18 games so far this season and could have been seen by the Hammers as someone to bolster their options going forward. Nice won the race for his signature and he is now teammates with ex-Premier League players like Kasper Schmeichel, Joe Bryan, Aaron Ramsey and Ross Barkley these days.

Moyes’ men are one point above the drop zone but have picked up a couple of decent results of late. They are back in action this weekend against Chelsea at the London Stadium.
