West Ham are apparently keen on Union Berlin attacker Sheraldo Becker. The Suriname international has helped his current club rise to the top of the Bundesliga this season.

According to reporter Christian Falk, the Hammers are ‘interested’ in signing him at the end of this campaign. Fellow Premier League side Everton are also believed to be in the frame.

West Ham could see the 27-year-old as someone to freshen up their attacking options next term. The forward has scored 17 goals in 101 games in all competitions since making the move to Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

Falk has told CaughtOffside: “Both West Ham and Everton are interested in Sheraldo Becker. We’ve just had it confirmed that Union received a concrete offer on Monday, though it’s not immediately clear which of the two submitted it.

“Union, however, now have a chance to potentially secure Champions League football next year and they’re still in the cup, so that’s why they were reluctant to sell Sheraldo.

“But in the summer they know they could lose him. He’s got a contract that runs until 2025. I could imagine seeing him switch to the Premier League in the summer.”

Becker rose up through the ranks at Ajax but never made a senior appearance for the Eredivisie giants. Instead, he was a regular for their B team before he was sold to ADO Den Haag in 2016. He then spent three years there before his switch to Germany and hasn’t looked back since.

In other West Ham news, Moyes believes if Declan Rice leaves it will break the British transfer record. He said, as per talkSPORT: “Undoubtedly Declan is going to be a top player. And undoubtedly he’ll be a British transfer record and more whenever he leaves West Ham.”
