Round-up of news regarding West Ham’s pursuit of Ligue 1 hotshot

West Ham are reportedly keen on bringing in FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi. The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals in 14 games so far this season. Here is a round-up of the latest news regarding the Nigeria international...

Price tag

West Ham are reported to have offered an initial £20million for his signature, with £5million in add-ons, according to Sky Sports. His contract in Ligue 1 expires in the summer of 2024 meaning he still has another year left.

Undecided?

David Moyes’ side are tying up a deal for Aston Villa forward Danny Ings but Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, via The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath on Twitter (see below), suggest Moffi is ‘undecided’ over the switch at the moment. He has been playing in France since 2020, having previously had a two-year spell in Belgium at Kortrijk.

Other clubs keen

There is competition for the player’s signature between now and the end of the transfer window. The Daily Mail have claimed that Bournemouth are admirers of him, whilst fellow French side OGC Nice are also in the frame. The Cherries are already signing his teammate Dango Ouattara from Lorient.

Southampton have also been linked with Moffi this winter, as per talkSPORT. The Saints appear to have turned their attentions elsewhere though.
