Daniel Levy has a reputation for being one of the most shrewd businessmen in world football and as Real Madrid continues to be linked with his striker Harry Kane, the Whites know they will have to be at their best to get their man.

In the past, the likes of Luca Modric and Gareth Bale have secured moves to the Spanish capital but they have all been done when Levy felt the fee and the time was right for the club.

Players don't force their way out of Tottenham and he makes sure that they pay a premium for services or no deal is struck. Still, Kane, faces a peculiar situation where the striker has just a year left on his contract and could leave for free next summer if they can't agree on a deal to sell or one to extend his stay.

But not even that brings a certain level of urgency out of Daniel Levy who continues to remain calm as the news of Madrid’s interest swells by the day. In Spain, expectations are that this will take all summer but there is a possibility and temptation for the England captain to swap London for Madrid.

Tottenham are attempting a fresh rebuild having failed spectacularly this season despite looking really bright at the start of the campaign. All the good that was done when they qualified for the Champions League has now all been binned and they have just employed Ange Postecoglou to replace Antonio Conte.

Madrid is perhaps the only team that Levy will be happy to let Kane to as he would prefer a sale abroad rather than a direct rival like Manchester United but even that he will do everything on his terms and with Tottenham’s best interest at heart.
