Tottenham 'willing' to offer £24.8m to sign midfielder with 25 Italy caps

Tottenham are said to be interested in a Serie A midfielder ahead of the summer.

Tottenham are said to be ready to spend a significant chunk of cash to land a midfielder this summer. Spurs are in need of more quality and depth ahead of next season, limping through the current campaign after a mountain of injuries.

Ange Postecoglou has struggled to find answers for the numerous injury crises, and he finds himself under pressure as a result, but back-to-back wins have eased that pressure a little as the Spring prepares to take hold.

This summer, Spurs will need to back Postecoglou, or whoever is in charge, with more quality a must if the North London club are to challenge for a top four spot next season. Midfield could be one of the areas they move to strengthen, and according to InterLive.it, Tottenham will circle back for a player they tried to sign last summer.

It’s claimed Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi is a player they expressed serious interest in, with the Italian club having refused to sell last summer. But that firm stance could change this summer, Inter president Giuseppe Marotta said to be considering a sale. The midfielder himself is said to be considering an exit, and Spurs are said to be willing to put up the money.

It’s claimed Tottenham are willing to offer £24.8million to wrap up a deal, though it’s unclear how much Inter will demand. Transfermarkt value Frattesi at £26.5million, and he is under contract until 2028, so it’s possible the Italian giants could demand more. It’s also reported elsewhere that Juventus could be interested in Frattesi this summer.

Frattesi has only been with Inter since last summer, though he spent a season before that on loan, with the Italian club landing him on loan with an option to buy from Sassuolo, an option they later activated. The 25-year-old is a 25 time Italy international, and he has scored eight times from midfield for his country.
