Tottenham are back in action on Wednesday night and the pressure is on.

Antonio Conte’s men have been in poor form of late, but they can ill-afford to slip up when they face Sporting CP in the Champions League on Wednesday night. In a wide open group, Spurs are just a point ahead of Marseille and Sporting, and three ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt with two games to play.

Tottenham’s head-to-head advantage over Frankfurt means they can secure a place in the knockout stage with a win over Sporting, but with the Portuguese side having plenty on the line themselves, they will be difficult opposition. Sporting actually beat Tottenham in Portugal, but they know if they lose tonight and Marseille win, they will not be able to progress due to their inferior record against Marseille.

Ahead of the clash, Tottenham boss Conte has confirmed that Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison will miss out, while there are question marks over Cristian Romero and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

“Richarlison and Kulusevski they are out because they are recovering but still not ready,” said the Spurs boss. Romero and Hojbjerg tomorrow morning we will see if there is the possibility to try and recover them.”

Elsewhere, Lucas Moura has returned, but he is still doubtful to be involved, with Conte adding: “Lucas Moura is a player who is recovering from a long issue. He’s improving but there are moments when you have to take some risks and we will see. I want to check tomorrow morning real situations with injuries. We will wait until tomorrow morning and then check the position.”
