Tottenham star sends Ange Postecoglou honest 'I am not satisfied' message before returning to training

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made only three starts under Ange Postecoglou in 2024.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg says he's not happy with his game time at Tottenham and hinted his lack of minutes on the pitch has got nothing to do with his application on the training ground. The Danish midfielder enjoyed a good international break, playing 84 minutes against Switzerland before scoring against Faroe Islands.

At Tottenham though, he's lost his starting slot to Yves Bissouma and has only managed 998 minutes in the league all season. When he arrived under Jose Mourinho three seasons ago, he was the backbone of the team and kept his place under both Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte.

But Ange Postecoglou has preferred the dynamic duo of Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr with James Maddison providing the creative spark. Juventus and Atletico Madrid were interested in Hojbjerg in the summer and he admits he's not happy with his game time in north London.

The Spurs midfielder told Tipsbladet: “Of course, I am not satisfied with what is going on at the club. It's not a secret, but it's not something I make a fuss about either.

"I can put my head on the pillow knowing that I'm giving it my all to show the coach he has to believe in me. This is not the case at the moment, and it is the coach who must explain why.”

Spurs looking for Champions League Football

The Lilywhites will now hope to return to winning ways after their defeat to Fulham before the international break. They take on Luton Town this weekend knowing they can not afford a slip-up with just two points between them and fourth-placed Aston Villa

Tottenham still have games against Manchester CityArsenal and Liverpool and could decide which team wins the league title this season
