Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has labelled the side's performance against Fulham last time out as 'terrible' ahead of the Premier League return to action this weekend.

Ange Postecoglou's side were blown away by Fulham last time out at Craven Cottage with the hosts running away 3-0 victors. In-form striker Rodrigo Muniz bagged a brace with Sasa Lukic also hitting the back of the net.

Spurs have the perfect chance to bounce back on Saturday against strugglers Luton Town with the race for European football hotting up. The Hatters are fighting for top-flight survival but have proved a tricky side to play against under Rob Edwards.

Previewing the match, Redknapp told Bet Victor: "I couldn’t believe Tottenham’s performance against Fulham, they were terrible! They’ve fought so hard to get back in pole position for that fourth spot and then they turn up at Craven Cottage looking so lethargic and off it. Ange Postecoglou must have been furious.

"What a massive point that was for Luton against Forest, we might look back on that as a huge moment by the end of the season. Forest’s points deduction has obviously helped them, and it might just relax them in these next few weeks.

"You’ve got to fancy Spurs here. They’ve mostly been very good at home under Ange but I do see Luton getting a goal."

Redknapp also predicted that Son Heung-min would bounce back from an underwhelming display against Fulham in style against Luton Town. He said: "By his standards, Heung-min Son didn’t have a good game at all against Fulham. He’ll respond here."

Speaking to the media after defeat at Craven Cottage, Postecoglou said: "You can level any accusation you want. I get it and am happy for people to run that sort of commentary to me, I don't see fourth as a prize. The club has finished fourth before, it's finished second before. It's reached a Champions League final. This club has achieved.

"Fourth is not my end goal. I don't want to finish fourth if we haven't grown as a team and developed as a team. If no one believes me, that's fine. Part of the narrative is to push for these positions where you think fourth is some kind of achievement.

"Fourth would be great if I feel we are growing as a team with something that will bring us success next year. Fourth isn't my goal. I get it from the outside that it seems like people are pushing you into that position where you have to succeed or fail on an outcome. Success is built on more tangible stuff. If we finish fifth and have a team to challenge next year - I won't be disappointed."
