AI predicted that Tottenham will sign four new players in January and two players to leave.

Tottenham Hotspur will be keen to make a splash in the January transfer window as they aim to improve their squad and improve their league position.

Spurs lost 2-1 to rivals Arsenal in their last match, despite taking a 1-0 lead through Heung-min Son after just 25 minutes. It left manager Ange Postecoglou under pressure as his side sit 14th in the Premier League table.

They have made just one January signing so far this month, adding goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague, in a deal worth £12.5m. He was signed to replace the injured Guglielmo Vicario, who will be out for several more weeks.

But who else could Tottenham sign during the window, and who could help Postecoglou turn things around for the North London side. We asked Chat GPT to predict who Spurs will sign and sell this January window, and this is what it said...

AI predicts Tottenham’s January departures

Sergio Reguilon - Tottenham to La Liga or Serie A side

The Spanish full-back is the first predicted casualty for Spurs in the January window, as he has struggled to find regular game time, despite the number of injuries that the team has faced this season. Reguilon signed in 2020 from Real Madrid for a fee of £25m, however his market value will be significantly lower now. The 27-year-old’s contract expires in the summer, so AI is predicting a cheap sale in January in order for the club to get a return for him.

Richarlison - Tottenham to the Saudi Pro League

The second sale that AI predicted was that Spurs would sell Brazilian striker Richarlison to a Saudi Pro League team. He has been dealing with injury problems this season, making just six Premier League appearances. There have been no reports linking the 27-year-old with a move away, however, with his current market value dwindling at £25m, it could be the right time for Tottenham to sell the attacker.

Edmond Tapsoba - Bayer Levekusen to Tottenham

Firstly, AI predicted that Spurs will address their current depth crisis at the centre-back position, by signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba, who has an £81m release clause. The 25-year-old has made 17 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, and has been at Leverkusen since January 2020, when he signed from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes for £16.8m.

Spurs have previously been linked to the defender alongside Manchester United, however, neither side made a move for the 25-year-old. He would help to ease some of the pressure on Spurs’ defence, and would provide Postecoglou with a star centre-back for years to come.

Yet another player who Spurs have been linked with in the past, AI predicted that Tottenham will finally make a move for Palace star attacker Eze, who attracted interest from several Premier League sides in the summer. The England international was linked with Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, but no official bid was ever made for the 26-year-old, who has had a couple of injury problems this season. Eze has made 17 Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals and four assists for Oliver Glasner’s side.

Jonathan David - Lille FC to Tottenham

AI also predicted that Spurs will add an attacker in January which fits with reports linking them to strikers this month. It said that they could sign David from Lille, who they have reportedly held talks with over a summer transfer, as the Canadian attacker is due to be out of contract with the French side in less than six months. He has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal.

David, 25, has scored 17 goals in 29 matches in all competitions for Lille this season. If Spurs were to sign him, it would help take some of the pressure off Dominic Solanke to be an out-and-out replacement for Harry Kane.

Ibrahim Sangare - Nottingham Forest to Tottenham

Finally, AI predicted that Spurs will look at Premier League rivals Forest and make an attempt to sign defensive midfielder Ibrahim Sangare. He would help sure up the Spurs midfield, and with a market value of around £24m, he would provide a fairly affordable target who can come in with Premier League experience.

However, this one seems the most unlikely due to the fact that Forest are currently third in the Premier League table, and Spurs are 14th - it would be unlikely that the midfielder would be prepared to make the move this month.
