'Viable target' - Tottenham emerge as contenders for £55m-rated striker amid Arsenal and Chelsea interest

The Serie A striker has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea amid reports he is set to leave this month.

Tottenham are in desperate need of more players in January as they look to add depth all over the pitch considering their current injury crisis.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are 15th in the Premier League table, and haven’t won a game in the league in six games. They lost 3-2 to Everton in their last game, which has left them just eight points away from the relegation zone.

A recent injury to striker Dominic Solanke has made the forward position a spot that Spurs aim to strengthen in the January window, as currently they only have one fit striker which is Richarlison.

Solanke is set to be out until mid-February at the earliest considering how well his recovery goes. Postecoglou said earlier in January: “It wasn't like it was even a challenge. It was just him trying to shoot and twisting his knee. It's just one of those things, unfortunately. We'll get the full extent of it. We're hoping that it is not too serious, but it will certainly keep him out for a few weeks.”

Tottenham emerge as potential buyers for Arsenal and Chelsea target

Recent reports have emerged suggesting that Tottenham could make a January move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been heavily linked to North London rivals Arsenal.

According to Italian outlet La Stampa, Juventus have offered the Serbian to several clubs in Europe’s top leagues, with Spurs being one such club. He could leave Juventus on a loan move until the end of the season, after falling out of favour at the Serie A club, however, they may also push for a permanent sale.

Vlahovic has made 25 appearances for Juventus this season, scoring 12 goals and contributing two assists. Chelsea have been linked to signing him in recent days, as they look to add depth up front behind striker Nicolas Jackson, who has scored 10 goals so far this year.

However, if Tottenham were to make a move for Vlahovic, they would have to hope that both Chelsea and Arsenal don’t also move for him, due to their league position, he would more likely reject a move to Spurs over their rivals.

Tottenham linked to in-demand Premier League striker

Vlahovic isn’t the only striker that Tottenham have been linked to in the January window, as they have more recently been touted to sign Ipswich Town star Liam Delap. The 21-year-old has scored eight goals in 21 Premier League games for Kieran McKenna’s side this season, helping them fight against relegation back to the Championship.

Delap has also attracted interest from Chelsea. Man City were also said to be considering buying him back for £30m this month, although they have since said that they won’t bring Delap back to the Etihad.

Ipswich are set to demand a fee of around £40m for Delap, a fee that Spurs can afford. The question is, do they rate the 21-year-old attacker as highly as the Tractor Boys do?
