Tottenham set an unwanted record of being the first Premier League side to concede at least two goals in their last seven games in the league.

The Lillywhites have only won twice in their last seven Premier League and have dropped out of the top four following a lacklustre performance against Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.

Returning goalkeeper Hugo Lloris made a basic mistake by spilling a routine shot which Watkins set up Emi Buendía to open the scoring for Unai Emery’s side.

Douglas Luiz, special throughout the game then finished the game off brilliantly with a confident finish to ensure they beat Tottenham at home, taking all three points and recording their first back-to-back away wins at their new manager.

Unai Emery might not have been a success at Arsenal but he always got the better of Tottenham and continued his fine form against them. Antonio Conte who has been left scratching his hair now says he’s told the players to focus on Crystal Palace.

He told reporters after the game: “I have no complains about the performance and for me football is strange because we had the desire.

“The first goal changed the game and they didn’tfeel the desire to stay one nil down. Normally we would come back today we didn’tdo this.

“If you ask me the central defenders played a good game, the two wink backs played a good game and the midfielders played a good game but the strikers.

“The players can feel a warm atmosphere and the players can feel that. I wasn’t angry with the players because I know how much they gave and I told them.

“All I told them that now we have to fight because from the first to the last we have to fight and be realistic.”
