Tottenham have made their move for James Maddison as they look to bring the talented English international to north London this summer.

Maddison has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and was part of the England team that played at the World Cup last year. According to reports, he’s valued at around £60million by the Foxes despite having just one year left on his current deal.

There is general expectation that he will leave Leicester this summer after their relegation and Newcastle who were strongly linked have gone on to sign Sandro Tonali from AC Milan, clearing the path for Tottenham to jump ahead and take the lead on teams currently chasing the midfielder’s signature.

According to sources, Tottenham have held talks with Leicester who are demanding up to £60million but Spurs want to make an offer in the £40million and spread the rest of the cost in add-ons.

Maddion is a client of the Base agency group and which have a strong representation at Tottenham at the moment including new manager Ange Postecouglou, Richarlison, and Son Heung-min.

The Lilywhites have also been a huge admirer of the 27-year-old for a while and Leicester's relegation last season has paved the way for the midfielder to leave as not many in the world expect such a talent at his peak to be playing in the Championship next season.

Tottenham have already signed Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in the hope that he will become the new long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.

The Lilywhites are now hoping that they can wrap up Maddison and improve the squad as they look to bounce back from a disappointing campaign that saw Antonio Conte leave the club.
