The Lilywhitesa are looking to add a defender that will compete with Cristian Romero and Ben Davies especially now that Clement Lenglet has returned to Barcelona and a new deal has not been agreed upon.

There have been talks going for Manchester UnitedHarry Maguire, the England defender however will not come cheap given his wages. Newly appointed Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is quite keen on a new centre-back who can pass and defend in equally.

The 25-year-old first cut his teeth with Manchester City before stints at Black Burn and West Brom landed him at Fulham where he’s held his own in the Premier League and proven that a player can still excel outside Manchester City.

Last season he managed 25 games in all competitions and scored one goal for Marco Silva’s side. He is entering the final 12 months of his contract which will make him quite approachable as one team wants to lose players for nothing.

Tottenham have already bagged Guglielmo Vicario as the long-term replacement for long-serving Hugi Lloris and will now look to strengthen other team parts before next season.

They finished a disappointing eight in the Premier League, the first time since 2010 that they will not be involved in any kind of European football but the appointment of Ange Postecoglou has somewhat promised hope that the team could return tot its foundation and play the kind of football that will excite the fans and eventually get them back to Europe.
