The Spurs forward’s goalscoring ability will bring more joy to his club’s fans as they prepare for a UEFA Champions League campaign in the 2022/23 season, after beating out north London rivals Arsenal to the final qualification spot in the Premier League.

With the summer transfer window opening in just a few days, here is a round up of the latest transfer rumours surrounding Spurs...

Spurs join race for England star

In a shock move, Spurs are said to have opened talks with the Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The Italian super-agent Roberto De Fanti spoke to CaughtOffside said: “I can also confirm that there have been some discussions very recently between the player’s camp and Tottenham Hotspur. The London club feel negitating a del for Rashford is virtually impossible though - so that transfer no longer seems an option.”

The Red Devils are said to have put a price tag of between £70-£80million on the 24-year-old in a bid to keep Rashford at Old Trafford.

De Fanti continued: “All the top sides in Spain and Italy have been keen to enquire about Marcus Rashford’s availability and the possibility of him leaving United this summer.

“Prior to any discussions, a valuation of around £40m, maybe £50m, seemed fair, but it turns out the attacker would cost a lot more - between £70m and £80m.”

Announcement pending on Romero’s future

Tottenham have announced a £150m equity injection which Antonio Conte will be sure to use this transfer season and it looks likely that star defender Cristian Romero will be one of the first to benefit.

Reports from Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano via Football Transfer Tavern have suggested that Spurs have activated the Argentine’s obligation-to-buy clause over the past fortnight with the 24-year-old Atalanta defender already signed.

This move would also involve sending Giovani Lo Celso to join Villarreal on a permanent basis in a swap deal. The Argentian has spent the last few months in La Liga on loan from the London club and was a key part of their journey to the Champions League semi-final.

Tottenham are hopeful of continuing their successful start to the summer transfer season by signing a left-sided centre-back which would complete Antonio Conte’s defence set-up.

Alessandro Bastoni is reportedly a target for both Manchester United and Tottenham but the Inter defender has insisted that the clubs have “not communicated anything” to him.

Bastoni has already worked with Spurs boss Conte, winning Serie A with him in 2021 and while this could give Spurs the edge, United are likely to be offer the Italian higher wages and beat the London side on transfer fee.

However, the Italian who has 14 international caps to his name has announced: “I am an Inter player. I have a two-year contract with Inter.

“The club has not communicated anything to me. I go on vacation after the national team, and then I start again with Inter.”
