Tottenham have been dealt a huge injury blow with big-money summer signing James Maddison seen with protective boots and on crutches after the 2-0 win over Manchester United.

The England international has wasted little time settling into life in north London, and building on his impressive debut against Brentford in the Manchester United game.

Tottenham already have the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon all still out through injury so another confirmed injury to their main creative outlet will be seen as a massive blow ahead of their trip to Bournemouth this weekend.

LondonWorld sources say he has not trained all week with manager Ange Postecoglou likely to miss him for their third Premier League game of the season.

Tottenham have had a difficult summer after seeing club record goalscorer Harry Kane chose to move to Bayern Munich despite being offered the chance to stay in north London.

The arrival of Postecoglou has also ended the reigns of proven winners like Jose Mourino and more recently Antonio Conte, with Spurs adopting a more measured approach and looking to instil a style of play which the fans can relate to.

Tottenham are also in talks with Lazio to sell captain Hugo Lloris after he stated he would love a challenge at the beginning of the summer. Lloris said: “I will ask myself quietly to study what will be possible. But I don’t forget that I still have a year of contract with Tottenham and that in football it is always difficult to predict what will happen.

“What is essential at the moment is to recover well from my injury. I’m on vacation but I continue to talk and do my training.”

Spurs have picked up four points from their first two games of the campaign and will hope to continue their unbeaten start to the season this weekend.
