'That’s what I want': Tottenham transfer target drops strong hint ahead of move in January

Kalvin Phillips has been outside looking in at Manchester City despite the suspension of Rodri.

Manchester City and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who has been linked to a host of clubs including Tottenham has admitted he would be looking to move on for more playing time ahead of next year's Euros.

Kalvin Phillips has been on the fringes of things at Man City since joining from Leeds United but continues to play a leading role for England.

He admits his role at treble winners Manchester City is not ideal and he will have to make a decision amid strong interest from the Lilywhites.

He told reporters after England beat Italy to seal qualification to next year's European Championship: “I know that I need to be playing games and competing every weekend. “I’m going to have to make a decision on [my future] over the next months. He [Gareth Southgate] just says that for me to keep my spot I have to be playing games. That’s what I want to do. I have agreed with Gareth on that."

Everton, Newcastle United, West Ham and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the 27-year-old but according to the Telegraph Tottenham's new technical director, Johan Lange is a massive fan of the former Leeds United man and will make a move for him when the transfer window opens in January.

Spurs have had a brilliant campaign so far but will be losing two of their starting midfielders Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr will be away for close to a month in January for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Rodrigo Bentancur who made a great impression has been out since injuring to his knee and it remains to be seen how his form will be like when he eventually returns to the field having been out since February.
