The future of Harry Kane continues to be a grey area as the Tottenham Hotspur icon is yet to commit to any potential outcome. The 29-year-old has not settled on staying with Spurs but he is also no closer to securing a blockbuster transfer either.

As it stands, Bayern Munich are the front-runners in the race for Kane’s signature but the North Londoners are not giving in easy. They have already rejected two offers for their star striker and the Bavarians are said to be preparing a third offer worth about €100 million (£86.7m) in total. The ideal scenario would obviously be to keep Kane at Spurs, but negotiations are proving trickier than expected.

Despite Daniel Levy’s determination to tie Kane down with a new deal, he has been given crystal clear instructions by Joe Lewis. The Tottenham owner has demanded Levy either sell their star man this summer, or make sure he puts pen to paper for new terms, according to The Mirror.

Spurs are reportedly willing to table a mammoth contract worth £400,000 per week in order to convince Kane to stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

As it stands, the England captain has less than 12 months left on his current contract and Lewis is far from entertaining the idea of losing him for free next summer. The club either want to see Kane commit his future to the project at Spurs, or sold before the summer window slams shut. Whichever way it goes, it will be one of the biggest deals of the year.

Manchester United were once in pole position to snap up the Englishman but his asking price proved too high for them to meet. However, with this latest revelation, they have been put on ‘red alert’ as Spurs could be forced to lower their asking price if Kane is unwilling to sign a new deal where he is.
