Hide AdIt was revealed yesterday, Tuesday 1 October, that the 26-year-old Eagles star would be open to leaving Palace for a ‘new challenge’ in 2025. Football Insider reported that both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have seemingly retained their interest in the England international and the goal-scoring ace could be ‘open’ for such offers coming through the door.
Now, however, those reports have gone one step further by suggesting that Eze may have to push to secure a cut-price move away from the Croydon club. The former QPR star had a release clause of £68 million in his contract but this expired half way through the summer’s transfer window.
While the clause is thought to be reactivated in 2025, sources are reporting that Eze’s hope of securing a move to a top club could force the Eagles to the negotiating table and settle on a ‘bargain’ fee.

Hide AdArsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Spurs were all linked with eyeing up a move for Oliver Glasner’s goal-scoring ace but it now appears only interest from Liverpool and Spurs remain.
Former QPR star Eze was highly expected to follow Michael Olise’s footsteps in departing the Croydon club during the summer. After Olise headed to Bayern Munich in deal worth £50m, it had been anticipated that the Eagles would also lose Eze, but it was not to be and the Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish admitted he was ‘astounded’ no club made a concrete offer for him.
Speaking back in September, Parish said: “I was really worried from a club point of view of losing Michael and Ebbs in the same window and we didn’t have in Ebbs the interest that I thought we would have. I was astounded. Genuinely astounded. I mean the guy’s just an outstanding footballer, an outstanding person.”

Hide AdEze has made eight appearances for Palace so far this season, scoring three goals and adding one assist. This comes after a formidable 2023/24 campaign in which he scored 11 goals and contributed six assists in 31 games across all competitions.
After penning an extension with the Selhurst Park club in November 2023, the 26-year-old is contracted with the Eagles until June 2027.
