Pep Guardiola picks out Tottenham's most dangerous player and issues Man City injury update
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been speaking about his side’s fitness and Tottenham.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Tottenham on Wednesday night. Spurs have been in improved form of late, winning back-to-back games, easing pressure on Ange Postecoglou.

Players are now beginning from injury in big groups, and Postecoglou is hoping to prove what he can do with a largely fit squad between now and the end of the season, even if European qualification via the Premier League is all-but out of the question.
Though, Tottenham’s momentum will face a big test on Wednesday night when they host a Man City side battling for a top four spot. City have also been in improved form of late, but they did lose to Liverpool over the weekend.
They did, however, play that game without star man Erling Haaland, who could return for the Spurs game. Guardiola said in his pre-match press conference: “Tonight, we will know it after training. I hope so but I don’t know yet. He feels better but the last two games he could not play. We’ll see tomorrow.”
As well as issuing an injury update, Guardiola also spoke about Tottenham, and he highlighted one particular player he thinks is a big danger. “They’re a fantastic team, with individual quality,” added the Spaniard. “The rhythm they play and intensity they do, incredible runners in the transitions but I think lately they have a few more extra passes. They can do it especially when James Maddison plays. The results dictate one thing, but the opinion of the team is the opposite.”
Maddison returned from a calf injury recently and has played the last two games, scoring a goal and providing an assist. The Englishman is key to Tottenham’s build-up play, and Guardiola will need no reminder that Maddison scored twice against his side earlier this season.
