Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga is back in London after a disastrous six-month loan spell with the German side Augsburg, where he failed to make a single appearance for the club. Now, he will look to put that behind him and enjoy the second half of the season at Millwall, as LondonWorld has been informed.

Tanganga was deemed surplus to requirements by Spurs' boss, Ange Postecoglou, in the summer and was subsequently loaned to Germany. However, due to injuries and poor form, both the club and the player agreed to terminate the nightmare spell so he could seek opportunities elsewhere.

LondonWorld can now reveal that the 24-year-old will undergo a medical at Millwall today ahead of signing a loan deal until the end of the season. Millwall currently sits in 16th place on the Championship table but has been plagued by injuries that have threatened to pull them into a relegation battle."

Joe Edwards, who was appointed Millwall manager last November admitted he could do with a helping hand to boost his squad in the second of the season. He told reporters last week: "we're not going to be spending millions, the club is really well and sensibly run financially but I definitely would love to strengthen.

"I wanted to before but if you see our bench in the last few games, in this spell we've had with injuries. There have been certain games this season -- the last two, Boro and Leicester -- when on 60, 70 minutes and look along at the subs these teams are making you're reminded of the depth these teams have."

Tanganga made his full Tottenham debut on 11 January 2020 in a 1–0 home defeat against Liverpool under Jose Mourinho but the departure of the Portuguese boss coupled with injuries have meant he's not been able to find the form and minutes that will aid his development. He'll hope a move to the Championship is where it all begins to come together for him again.
