Tottenham forward Dejan Kulusevski says it’s easy to see that James Maddison is a fantastic player even if you’re playing against him.

The England star has excelled in his first month in north London, making eight-goal contributions, scoring three and assisting five as Spurs jump to the summit of the league table.

Given how much players go for in this transfer market, Spurs will consider themselves lucky to have signed him for only £40million and his teammate Kulusevski says he’s been an absolute steal for the club.

He told LondonWolrd after Maddison scored again to help Spurs to a 2-0 win over London rivals Fulham: “He is very good. As soon as he has the ball I try to make as many runs as possible.

“Yes. Absolutely. It is fantastic. He is good at dribbling, passing and also scoring so he adds a lot to our team. Yes, I did. You can see directly when you play against good players.”

Kulusevski himself has been excelling under new manager Ange Postecoglou and highlighted the importance of playing with a smile on your face.

He added: “It is more important than everything, of course. You have got to have fun. You have got to have fun when you work and when you are playing. That is number one. Of course, we are very disappointed with the second half but it was still very good to come away with three points.”

Tottenham are just one of two unbeaten teams in the league and they will get a chance to go five points clear at the top of the league table when they travel to Selhurst Park for their game against the Eagles this Friday.
