In the net was Newcastle United’s Nick Pope, who kept a clean sheet for his team in their 4-0 demolition job over Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace at the weekend. He picked up a rating of 7.5 - even though the Eagles could only muster three shots on target.

At right-back was Diogo Dalot, who played an integral role in Manchester United’s hard-fought victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday evening. He wasn’t able to collect a clean sheet, but he scored the winning goal to give his team the three points.

The first of two centre-backs in the XI was Craig Dawson - he put forth an heroic shift for Wolves, as they picked up a vital away win over ten-man Bournemouth. Virgil Van Dijk occupied the other slot in the centre-back pairing. Everton offered little threat in a lacklustre Merseyside derby, with the Dutchman meeting everything that the Toffees threw at them.

In at left-back was Fulham’s Antonee Robinson - their London derby against Spurs ended in disappointment for the Cottagers, but they put up a solid effort against the league leaders. Robinson was WhoScored’s pick of the bunch, as he collected a 7.3 player rating.

Jacob Murphy occupied the right midfield slot - he also had the highest rating from WhoScored of the gameweek, with a commendable score of 9.3. The Toon ran riot over Crystal Palace - Murphy scored the opening goal of the game, then went on to provide a pair of assists.

Douglas Luiz is slowly turning into one of the best holding players in the Premier League - his performance against West Ham on Sunday was a great example of this, as he dominated the middle of the park and scored a brace. James Maddison is the first Tottenham player in the XI - he has been exceptional this season and his game against Fulham was no different. He scored Spurs’ second goal of the game as he turned in yet another exemplary performance.

Nottingham Forest were perhaps unfortunate to not pick up three points against Luton Town at the weekend - especially with Anthony Elanga putting in such a brilliant individual performance, as he collected a duo of assists.

And who was the recipient of those two assists? None other than Chris Wood, who netted a brace against the Hatters. It wasn’t enough to pick up the win - but WhoScored nevertheless recognised the Kiwi’s efforts.

Finally, the last player in the XI was none other than Son Heung-min. He scored the opening goal against Fulham on Monday evening, then went on to set up their second - it was yet another brilliant display by the 31-year-old.
