Kane is Tottenham and England's top scorer and Spurs have moved fast to try to tie him to a new deal even though Londonworld understand he is not too keen to sign it with the transfer window still open and his options still increasing by the day.

Bastian Schweinsteiger who enjoyed his time at both Bayern and Manchester United admitted Bayern need a lethal forward to replace Robert Lewandowski who left the club for Barcelona 2022 but just doesn't think they will have the final muscle to make the deal happen.

He told TalkSPORT: “Bayern Munich, of course, would like to sign Harry Kane, but I also know that Bayern is not a club who will pay as much money as maybe the owner of Tottenham is asking for!

“So there will be one guy [at Bayern] who puts the fist on the table and says, ‘No, we are not paying so much’ but they’re looking for a striker, that’s for sure.”

Kane bagged 30 Premier League goals as Spurs finished a disappointing eight in the Premier League, only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland scored more in a team that ended up winning the treble.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is renowned for being a shrewd businessman. It will be interesting to see if he sticks or twist when it comes to the Kane situation.
