Ange Postecoglou says captain Son Heung-min has taken to leadership like a duck takes to water and is helping new signing Brennan Johnson settle in the club after his summer move from Nottingham Forest.

Johnson joined Tottenham from Forest in the summer for £47.5million and has wasted little time in hitting the ground running, starting seven of the 10 games he's played for the club so far. Postecoglou speaking ahead of the game against Steve Cooper's team said he was impressed with how the Welsh forward has adapted to life in north London even though he's had some help from his skipper.

He told reporters at the club's training base in Enfield: "We're pleased with the way Brennan's developing. We're wary when signings come in late in the piece because they have to get up to speed with the way we train, the way we play, and he's had a couple of setbacks with little niggles so he hasn't had a good run at it. But the last few weeks you can see he's starting to more than anything feel at ease with himself in what we're trying to do. Especially in that front third, you need the players to play with a bit more freedom, albeit at the same time he's taking in a lot of information.

"I think he was really good last weekend and unlucky not to score, but his general game was really good. I'm sure Sonny's helped him enormously but ask any player in the group and they'd say Sonny has been a big part of helping them settle into what we're doing here."

Johnson scored 29 goals in 109 appearances for Nottingham Forest before his summer move to Tottenham.
