QPR are reportedly in a 'race' against Birmingham City and Rotherham United to sign Luton Town midfielder Allan Campbell before the January transfer window slams shut at 11 pm tonight.

The Rs are known to be in the market for a midfielder this month, having let Andre Dozzell join Birmingham City this month despite the club's relegation battle. QPR had previously been linked with a move for Sporting de Gijón talent Jonathan Varane, but that appears to have run its course with the player training with the Spanish club today.

Football Insider reports that Marti Cifuentes' side will instead target the former Motherwell man. Campbell is currently on loan at Millwall from the Hatters but hasn't had Championship game time in seven matches, sparking rumours of the player being sent elsewhere.

Millwall sign 'powerful' teenager in major coup

Millwall have enjoyed a piece of successful Deadline Day business by bringing talented Morecambe winger Adam Mayor to the club for a fee in the region of £300,000. The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the London club.

The teenager scored seven goals in 67 fixtures for the League Two club since making his debut in August 2022, breaking into the world of first-team football. Millwall supporters will have to wait to see the star in action, with Mayor suspended for the meeting with Hull City on Saturday.

Speaking as the signing was confirmed, Joe Edwards said: “He’s had a lot of impact, which has really impressed me. He has pace and power – and there’ll be more to come as he goes through his physical development – and to see what he is capable of already is really promising,” he continued.

“If a player comes on the pitch and produces the goods, there’s no reason why Adam wouldn’t become a more permanent fixture in our squad or get game time to make an impact this season.”
