QPR suffered a new blow to their survival fight as Marti Cifuentes' side were beaten 2-0 at Loftus Road by Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.

The defeat comes after a four-game unbeaten run and a series of impressive performances and leaves the Rs just one point above the relegation zone with nine fixtures left to play.

QPR star sent message by Newcastle United

QPR have been handed a boost in any permanent pursuit of Newcastle United star Isaac Hayden this summer. Local Tyneside outlet The Chronicle has reported that the Premier League club have informed the midfielder that he has 'no future' at the side.

The 28-year-old joined the Rs on loan in January, having had his time at Standard Liege during the first half of the campaign cut short after an underwhelming start. Since his arrival at Loftus Road, Hayden has appeared in every Championship outing and started six of the fixtures as QPR look to lead a survival fight.

Hayden has been praised by boss Marti Cifuentes and, if he is part of the Catalonian's long-term plans, that could be a realistic transfer deal this summer. The Chronicle adds that Hayden is currently on a £50,000 per-week deal and is contracted at St James' Park until 2026.

Millwall loan star impresses

Millwall loan star Japhet Tanganga continues to turn heads in the Championship and in the Premier League thanks to impressive performances for the Lions. The Tottenham Hotspur defender scored again for Millwall against Blackburn Rovers, to secure a 1-0 win at The Den on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who also bagged in the headline-making win over Southampton, has been an all-round standout on the pitch since making the switch to Millwall in January.

Millwall boss Neil Harris was asked what Ange Postecoglou might make of his player's sudden improvement, to which he told South London Press: “Japh has done excellent. At the moment I’m more interested in what I think about Japh! The reason players come on loan is because they need different experience or they need minutes.

“We’ve got players on loan from clubs and once they come to us it is our responsibility to try and develop and progress them as players. Japh is a very talented footballer and a very good one-vs-one defender but if you come to Millwall you come for different reasons – everyone knows that, no-one is stupid in the game.

"Japh is one, since I’ve walked in the building, has grown in personality over the last three weeks already. I have seen his character change and his confidence. If I can help him develop in both penalty areas and give him an experience over the coming months that develops him as a man, as well as doing that as a player then Japh will be happy and I’m sure Spurs will be as well.”

Leeds United to rival Wolves for ex Rs man

Leeds United could rival Wolves and Crystal Palace over a transfer for Fenerbache and Nigeria star Bright Osayi-Samuel this summer. The versatile winger and full-back is said to be keen on a Premier League move as he enters the last 12 months of his contract.

That's according to Ben Jacobs, who adds that any viable Whites move for the star would be dependent on promotion back to the top flight. Osayi-Samuel is a familiar face for fans, having turned out for Blackpool and QPR in the past. The player is valued at just over £4 million according to Transfermarkt, but the limited time on his contract could mean that fee is up for negotiation.

Jacobs said: “Leeds’ interest has been historical, so it’s no surprise if they return. England is somewhere that he would be prepared to entertain, would ideally be looking for Premier League football, from what I’m told.

“So if Leeds are to reignite interest in a player that they’ve tracked before, then it would likely, given that there is other Premier League interest, be contingent on them getting promoted."
