The second Neil Harris era at Millwall is off to a flying start with two vital wins in his first two Championship fixtures, kickstarting a fight for survival at The Den.

The Lions sit 18th in the division but remain just one point above the drop zone in a very tight lower third of the table. Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City and QPR all also picked up wins in their last outings as pressure rises.

Millwall boss hints at desire for transfers

Millwall head coach Neil Harris has hinted at future transfer action at the Championship club as he labelled his current team as 'not my squad' after two vital back-to-back wins.

The Lions beat London rivals Watford at The Den on Saturday having grabbed three points on the road at St Mary's Stadium against high-flying Southampton in Harris' first game back in charge at the end of February.

Harris has been full of praise for his squad and the mentality to turn a poor run of form into those vital six points but admitted to being left with a squad that is not of his own making as he lamented not having had a transfer window to build the side to fit his style.

South London News quote Harris, who said: “I think they are taking responsibility but I’m trying to take the pressure off them and put it on my shoulders. I can take it. I pick the team and I ask the players to play in a way. Yes, I’d like them to handle the ball a little bit better at times – I can’t go on and kick it for them.

“But it is on me now, yeah? And I’m not shirking that. I haven’t got a transfer window or Tom Bradshaw for a period of time. I can’t sign any players. A lot of them are not my players. I’ll take responsibility for the football club and I’ll help the guys above me running the football club – because I know what it takes here.

"At the moment they are showing their character and spirit. That’s all I’m asking. I’m giving them a lot of tactical information at the moment and we just have to be really careful we don’t overload them."

Leeds United rival Chelsea and West Ham for £15m talent

Leeds United are believed to be rivalling Chelsea and West Ham over a summer move for promising Gent left-back Archie Brown.

That's according to HITC, with the outlet reporting that the Whites are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old. The Englishman was part of the Derby County youth academy but left in 2021 to play for Swiss side Lausanne-Sport before signing a four-year contract with Gent in Belgium last summer.

Brown has impressed at the side this season at left-back and any transfer move is believed to command a 'sizeable fee' with years left on his contract. The defender is valued at around £15 million and has previously been linked with Juventus and Lyon, as well as the Premier League and Championship clubs.

Brentford interest in Norwich City talisman

Norwich City could have to fend off Premier League interest in the services of striker Josh Sargent this summer.

Alan Nixon claims that Brentford are looking at a move for the 24-year-old as Bees talisman Ivan Toney looks likely to make a big-money switch come the end of the season. Sargent had a slow start to life in Norfolk since arriving from Werder Bremen in 2021 but is enjoying an impressive season this term.

The striker has 11 goals in 15 league outings this term - form that has caught the interest in West London. Sargent did put pen to paper on a new five-year deal this season, keeping him at Carrow Road until 2028, which could allow Norwich City to command a hefty transfer fee for any deal.
