Millwall vs Sunderland team news with 5 doubts and 3 outs as Black Cats plagued by disciplinary issues

Millwall will be licking their lips at the prospect of a potential giant-killing this weekend as Sunderland make the trip to The Den.

Neil Harris' side claimed victories over promotion-chasing sides Burnley and Leeds United before the international break and the high-flying Black Cats could be next up to struggle at the buoyant London outfit.

Millwall team news

Having struggled with injuries early on this season, Millwall now seem close to having a fully fit squad available ahead of facing league leaders Sunderland.

Tom Bradshaw, Adam Mayor and Billy Mitchell are the fitness concerns for Neil Harris but all are training and have had minutes over the international break. The Lions head coach told the South London Press: “Fingers crossed Romain [Esse], George [Saville] and Miha [Ivanovic] return from international duty and are okay.

“The boys coming back from long-term injury, Adam Mayor and Billy, are edging closer all the time. They are very close to selection opportunity, if need be.

“Billy and Adam are working up their minutes and training loads. Bradders and Josh Coburn are training every session. Tom played 65 minutes in the under-21 game at The Den last week, to build his minutes. He is getting healthier and fitter.

“The lads who have been missing are pushing along really nicely for us, which is going to be really important between now and March, the next international break, especially over the festive period where games come thick and fast.”

Sunderland team news

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has somewhat of a team selection headache ahead of the trip to The Den, but that has largely been caused by disciplinary issues rather than injury niggles.

Star man Jobe Bellingham was shown a red card against Sunderland and will serve the final of his three match suspension. Patrick Roberts and Trai Hume are also suspended having accumulated too many yellow cards.

Romaine Mundle and Alan Browne were both forced off with injury against Coventry City before the international break and are therefore doubts for the trip to Millwall.
