Millwall player ratings - 'Swashbuckling' 9/10 and 'brilliant' 8 in impressive Burnley victory

Millwall made it six unbeaten in the Championship with an impressive victory over promotion-chasing Burnley on Sunday afternoon in front of a home crowd at The Den.
The visitors did dominate early on, striker Andreas Hountondji proving a handful for Jake Cooper and firing wide twice in the opening 20 minutes to keep Lukas Jensen on his toes. Meanwhile, the Lions had a decent penalty shout waved away by referee Gavin Ward, Cooper looking to be hauled to the ground by Burnley defenders.

Hide AdA lengthy stoppage for an injury to the linesman helped Millwall stop growing Burnley pressure, establishing a foothold in the meeting after the break. The side's best chances of the first half came in added time with Macaulay Langstaff making James Trafford work with a brilliant header before Femi Azeez fired narrowly over the bar from a volley.
The hosts picked up where they left off after the break and found the deadlock following a set play as an Azeez cross landed plum on the head of Cooper, who gave Trafford little chance. High-flying Burnley huffed and puffed to get back into the game but little could be done to test an ever-resolute Harris outfit - here’s how the Millwall players rated.
GK - Lukas Jensen, 7
Had to be alive early with a flurry of Burnley chances but protected well by his back four after that.
LB - Joe Bryan, 9
Koleosho looked a danger early but Bryan was more than up for that challenge. Looked confident against the tricky winger and worked wisely after picking up an early yellow card.

Did struggle against the directness of Hountondji early on but found his footing. Brilliant header for the goal.
CB - Japhet Tanganga, 7
Resolute in defence against a tough Burnley side. Thrilled the stadium with a jaunting run forwards shortly after the goal.
RB - Ryan Leonard, 7
Strong performance at full-back, keeping Jaidon Anthony quiet all day.
CDM - George Saville, 6
Was made to work by Burnley today. When you’re so busy, mistakes are likely and the midfielder frustrated The Den at times, but there were some really positive interventions too.

Neat but perhaps quiet in the first half. Improved after the break. Nearly smashed one in with 10 minutes left to play.
RW - Femi Azeez, 9
Had the beating of Humphreys all day on that right flank in what could be his best Millwall performance to date. Grabbed the assist for the goal in a swashbuckling performance.
CAM - George Honeyman, 7
Struggled for his usual influence early on as Burnley dominated but sparked into life shortly before the break, conducting a flurry of Millwall chances. That helped the side carry that momentum into the second half and find the opener.
LW - Romain Esse, 7
His usual self causing problems for the Burnley defence. Some really great link-up play with Bryan today.

Lacked the physicality of the Burnley centre-backs but made up for that with a willingness to run. Does look a little goal shy at times but the quality to finish is there, as seen with a brilliant header that worked Trafford late on in the first half.
SUBS - Danny McNamara (7), Ryan Wintle (6), Duncan Watmore (8), Josh Coburn (8), Shaun Hutchinson (N/A)
