Palmer’s Millwall verdict

EFL pundit Carlton palmer has been speaking about Millwall’s impressive form as the Lions look to put together a playoff push this season. "Millwall have gone about their business under Neil Harris quite quietly, but now we see them in 5th place on 22 points in a play-off place,” he told Football League World.

"It's remarkable to see the change under Neil Harris. Can they be considered as proper promotion contenders? Well, the argument would be that they've beaten in their last two games Burnley and Leeds United, who would be considered as automatic promotion candidates and for the title. Do I see them gatecrashing the front two? I really don't. I think the games come thick and fast. They’re still eight points behind Sunderland, they're still six points behind Sheffield United. I don't think they'll gatecrash the one and two that will go up. I think the games have come thick and fast, with two or three in a week, you get mixed results. But not taking anything away from Millwall, they're doing really, really well, and they're having a fine season."

QPR injury issues

QPR continues to struggle from injury issues as they prepare to take on Leeds United this weekend. Hoops boss Marti Cifuentes has said: “He’s (Michael Frey) recovering from a calf injury and I cannot give you an accurate answer on when he will be back.

“We don’t know yet. He (Ilias Chair) was in a lot of pain. I guess he will get some tests to know what kind of injury it is, but he has some pain in the knee. I will speak with the medical staff and know what the assessment is.”

Beckford on Greenwood issue

Leeds United forward Sam Greenwood has scored three in his last four for loan club Preston North End, leading to questions over why he wasn’t given a chance for Leeds this season. Responding to those claims, former Leeds frontman turned pundit Jermaine Beckford told Sky Sports: “He’s a very creative player but his set pieces are fantastic. His distribution is really clever. While he was at Leeds, in PL2, goals and assists, every single game, they were coming thick and fast, on a regular basis.

“He didn’t get the same opportunities at Leeds, he just wasn’t quite suited. The pressure at Preston is not going to be as much as it is at Leeds, the expectation is not going to be as much as it is at Leeds United.”
