Fulham return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on AFC Bournemouth.

It has been an impressive start to the season for the Cottagers, who sit in ninth position after nine games. Marco Silva’s men do, however, come into this one on the back of consecutive defeats, conceding seven goals across defeats to West Ham and Newcastle.

This weekend, Fulham take on the side directly above them, fellow promotees Bournemouth, who have also enjoyed a surprisingly positive start, despite sacking Scott Parker on the back of a rocky opening.

Ahead of the clash with Bournemouth, Fulham are sweating on the fitness of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who picked up an injury last time out. “He’s getting better,” Silva said on Friday. “Today was the first day he was involved with the team after two weeks, two-and-a-half weeks without the team.

“Now we are checking, assessing him, how he is feeling. We’ll do the same later this evening to take the decision if he will be involved in the squad list or not. Let’s see what will happen next few hours. I’ll meet with the medical staff, and my technical staff as well, and after I will take the decision.”

Kenny Tete is another doubt, while Nathaniel Chalobah is suspended, and Manor Solomon and Layvin Kurzawa are all still sidelined with injuries. In more positive news, Silva has confirmed that Willian will be fit to play after recent injury issues.

As far as Bournemouth are concerned, Lloyd Kelly, David Brooks and Junior Stanislas are all ruled out for this one. Cherries interim boss Gary O’Neil has said: “It comes too quickly for Lloyd Kelly still and David Brooks is still recovering.”

Ben Pearson, who has a thigh issue, and Joe Rothwell, who has an ankle problem were both doubts, but they look to be okay. “They’re back training,” O’Neil added. “They’re fully training with the group, so it’s been a good week for both of them.”
