Fulham are reportedly watching Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. The France U21 international has caught the eye playing in Ligue 1 this season.

According to a report by Corriere Dello Sport, the Cottagers are keeping him under ‘observation’. Marco Silva could see the youngster as a long-term option between the sticks but fellow Premier League side Newcastle United have also been mentioned as a potential suitor.

Fulham swooped to sign goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Arsenal last summer and he has since made the number one spot his own at Craven Cottage this season. Marek Rodak has dropped down the bench and is facing an uncertain long-term future with his contract up next year.

Chevalier, 21, has been on the books at Lille since 2014 and has risen up through the ranks. He was loaned out to Valenciennes FC in Ligue 2 last term to get some experience under his belt and ended up making 30 appearances in all competitions to boost his development.

He has since returned to Stade Pierre-Mauroy and has played 14 times so far in this campaign. His performances are believed to have alerted the attention of both Fulham and Newcastle and they could face a battle to keep him in the future.
