Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic this month and the latest reports coming out of Italy are suggesting that a move may be getting closer.

Italian publication Tutto Mercato are claiming that Fiorentina are willing to let the player leave this month after accepting a €70 million bid from the Gunners.

However, the Serbian’s preference was apparently to remain with the Serie A side for the rest of the season but that could be changed after the North London side offered him a whopping £10 million per year salary.

Here is everything you need to know about the latest reports on Dusan Vlahovic’s potential move to Arsenal:

As reported by Tutto Mercato, Fiorentina have accepted Arsenal’s €70 million bid for the 21-year old Serbian international.

Vlahovic has been in outstanding form for club and country for the past 18 months and this season already has 25 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions.

That form has seen him linked with a several of European football’s top clubs with Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur both rumoured to be interested in the player.

However, there have been mixed reports about the players preference with some sources claiming his preferred option would by Pep Guardiola’s side and other suggesting the players wants to see out the season with Fiorentina.

Either way, it looked as if the player was prepared to “snub” a move to Arsenal but his head may be turned if the Gunners’ reported salary offer is true.

£10 million a year, over £300,000 a month, would place the 21-year old amongst the Premier League’s highest paid players and would make him the third highest paid Arsenal player behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thomas Partey (data via spotrac.com).

With just over one week remaining in the January transfer window, Mikel Arteta and the club’s representatives will have to pick up the pace on this deal or see it run right to the wire.

How likely is Dusan Vlahovic to join Arsenal?

According to the bookmakers, Arsenal are the favourites to Dusan Vlahovic before February 3rd.

SkyBet have Arsenal leading the market for the player’s signature at 5/4 but hot on their tails are Fiorentina’s Serie A rivals Juventus who are priced at 5/2.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are still available in the market, as are Newcastle United, by a massive long shots with Spurs priced at 20/1, City at 25/1 and Newcastle at 33/1.

Although the odds are short, they still suggest that a deal is some way off and perhaps fly in the face of the recent Italian reports that say Fiorentina have accepted an offer from the Gunners.

Meanwhile, the same oddsmakers still have Arsenal priced at 4/6 to land Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo before the window shuts.

The Brazillian is another player who has been linked with a move to North London for a few weeks now and it looks like that deal is considerably more likey, for the moment at least, than the Vlahovic move.
