Premier League make official decision ahead of Crystal Palace vs Newcastle clash

Crystal Palace return to Selhurst Park this weekend as they welcome Newcastle United. They’ll be on the hunt for a precious victory after going three matches without a win.

Palace come off the back of a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa where a late equaliser from Ross Barkley meant Oliver Glasner’s side weren’t able to come away with three points. They sit 19th in the Premier League, just four points above bottom team Southampton with manager Oliver Glasner under pressure to turn things around amid what seems to be a relegation fight.

They face a Newcastle United side who come off the back of a 2-0 defeat to West Ham at St. James’ Park in a game where the Magpies were expected to come away with a fairly comfortable win. They conceded goals to Tomas Soucek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in what was their first defeat in four games after impressive wins against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.

Both teams will be desperate to get back to winning ways, with Palace aiming to get out of the bottom three and Newcastle to break into the top six as they currently sit 10th on 18 points from 12 matches.
