However it appeared to backfire with the west London side running out 3-2 victors.

Vieira has implemented a real attention-to-details culture in south London, and they will try and iron out every possible situation that gives them the best chance of winning.

Frank Lampard’s side suffered a huge setback when they lost to Brentford, but they know they still have their Premier League fate in their own hands and a win at home will all but secure survival for another season.

For Palace, a win will take them to 48 points, just one behind their all time best Premier League points tally, and with a home game against Manchester United to come it could still be another memorable season.
