Oliver Glasner sent clear transfer message as Crystal Palace identify Jordan Ayew's replacement

Crystal Palace have agreed to a deal with Leicester City for the transfer of forward Jordan Ayew, LondonWorld has been told. The forward is set to undergo a medical this week before signing a two-year contract.
Ayew joined Crystal Palace four seasons ago for a fee of around £2 million from Swansea City. Since then, he has won the club’s Player of the Season award during the 2019/2020 campaign, where he scored nine league goals, including a Premier League all-timer against West Ham. Last season, he turned down an offer to move to the Saudi League, but the prospect of a two-year deal with better wages at Leicester's King Power Stadium was too enticing to pass up.

Hide AdOn Wednesday, LondonWorld reported that Ayew was among the players eyeing an exit. However, the club remained confident that with the signing of Ismaila Sarr and the versatility of Odsonne Edouard, they would manage even if the Ghanaian forward departed before the transfer window closed.
Palace finished the season strong under Oliver Glasner last season, winning all their last four home games to finish 10th in the league table—their best-ever league finish.
Since then, they have seen Michael Olise depart to Bayern Munich, Joachim Andersen agree to a fee with Leicester, and Marc Guehi become the subject of a record deal from Newcastle United.
Earlier this week, Palace Chairman Steve Parish confirmed he was willing to sell Guehi, but only for the right price, as he is considered a generational talent. He said, "Nobody has met the valuation yet. If you want a superstar player, you need to pay superstar money. It's not near the point where we have to make a decision. We love having him and would love to keep him. If someone else wants to have him, they need to make it really difficult for us. He's a generational talent.”
This weekend, Palace take on West Ham United, with both teams having failed to win their opening-day games.
