Chukwuemeka latest

Chelsea are working on a number of exits ahead of the deadline, with Enzo Maresca keen to reduce his very bloated squad. Carney Chukwuemeka is a player being linked with an exit.

Chukwuemeka does not appear likely to break into Maresca’s plans having already struggled for game time last season. Journalist Simon Phillips said on his Substack: “As for Carney Chukwuemeka, SPTC sources are hearing that his future remains up in the air.

“If he was going to be sold by Chelsea this window then he would accept that, and he has actually been quite keen to join Crystal Palace after that interest came in last week. However, sources say that Chelsea ‘moved the goalposts’ on this one and as of today, it is yet to materialise. It still might. AC Milan are also interested in Carney, and Chelsea have actually been angling him towards that move. We are not sure why at the moment.”

Lo Celso update

Tottenham man Giovani Lo Celso is attracting attention this summer with his role in Postecoglou’s plans unclear at this stage. According to Ole, Aston Villa are favourites to land the midfielder, with Postecoglou not valuing him as part of his plans.

The report claims Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are interest, while it is also claimed that Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah are now expressing an interest, entering the race for the Argentina international with just over a week left in the window.

Trippier ‘wants’ exit

Former Tottenham man Kieran Tripper is said to want a move away from Newcastle United before the summer deadline. The England international looks to have fallen out of Eddie Howe’s best starting XI and was an unused substitute for Newcastle’s opening week win over Southampton.

According to The Athletic, Trippier is now pushing for an exit with Everton reportedly interested in snapping him up. With the full-back now 33 years of age, it’s unlikely Newcastle will place a big price tag on him this summer, though they may have to replace him.
